Srinagar: The authorities did not allow congregational Friday prayers at Srinagar’s Jama Masjid for the eighth consecutive week today.
In a statement here, Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid reiterated its concern and resentment against disallowing Friday prayers at the historic mosque for the eighth consecutive Friday, and also against the “house detention” of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
It said the administration must remove “undue restrictions” on the mosque and the Mirwaiz.
