The committee, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina, is tasked with delivering its findings within the next 15 days.

Family members of the deceased gathered outside the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Baramulla on Wednesday to register their protest against GMC Baramulla. Expressing grief and anger, they chanted slogans against the hospital administration and doctors, demanding justice for Dilshada Akthar.

In response to mounting allegations of medical negligence, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, initiated the formation of a district audit committee. ADC Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina, revealed that the eight-member committee, which includes doctors and technical experts, will thoroughly investigate the circumstances leading to Dilshada Akthar’s death.

ADC Sopore, speaking to the media, stated, “As soon as I received the order, I started working on it. We have to submit a report to DC Baramulla within 15 days. The committee will meet with all members tomorrow, and letters have already been issued to all the concerned sections involved in this incident.”

Expressing optimism about delivering a comprehensive report within the stipulated time, ADC Sopore emphasized the importance of the committee’s composition, with medical professionals and technical experts working collaboratively to ensure a thorough investigation.

“We are hopeful that we will submit the report within the given time so that justice can be delivered,” stated ADC Sopore.
