Dagger Women Warriors commemorates Int’l Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women

Baramulla: In a powerful display of solidarity and advocacy, Dagger Women Warriors took the helm in commemorating the International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women to be celebrated on Nov 25 every year. 

The event, held at Govt Medical College, Baramulla on 22 Nov 23 with unwavering determination, aimed to raise awareness and drive action against the pervasive issue of gender-based violence.

Led by a cohort of dedicated women officers, the event was a poignant reminder of the challenges women face globally. Through poignant speeches, and interactive discussions by the organisers, attendees were sensitized to the urgency of addressing this pressing issue.

Advocate Sabreen of One Stop Centre, Baramulla, a keynote speaker, emphasized the importance of empowering survivors and breaking societal barriers perpetuating violence. “It’s imperative to unite and foster a safe environment where every woman feels secure and respected,” she remarked.

A symbolic candlelight vigil marked the conclusion of the event, honouring victims and survivors while reiterating the commitment to stamping out violence against women.

This commemorative event, spearheaded by Women Officers of the Indian Army stands as a testament to their unwavering dedication to advocate for a world free from gender-based violence. As the world continues its battle against this scourge, their proactive efforts serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for change.
