Crackdown on traffic violators continues in Anantnag

ANANTNAG: A team of the Motor Vehicles Department today laid special nakka at Khanabal- Bijbehara Road to check violation of the various visible offences under the Motor Vehicles Act, 2019 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989.

During the checking, nearly 120 Vehicles were checked which included as many as 30 School Buses. 40 vehicles were blacklisted on the spot for various offences such as diversion of route permit, carrying students in private vehicles, carrying excess students in school buses, non-use of seat belts, plying without fitness, without permit and tempering Speed Limiting Device. Fine to the tune of Rs 45000 is expected to be realised from the violators.

Meanwhile, the inspection team also made the people aware of their duties towards observing traffic norms and road safety while travelling.

The violators were informed that similar checking drives would continue in the coming days and asked them to strictly adhere to traffic norms to avoid any further strict action by the department.
