Srinagar: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, on Friday, appealed to the Prime Minister to intervene and ensure that the verifications required for obtaining jobs and passports are not hindered on unnecessary grounds. He also urged New Delhi to reciprocate the peaceful aspirations of the people in Jammu and Kashmir with positive initiatives.

Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari addressed a party convention at Gund Khawaja Qasim village in north Kashmir’s Pattan, where people gave him a rousing reception upon his arrival at the venue with his senior party colleagues.

While addressing the gathering, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari appealed to the Prime Minister to intervene for a smooth verification process for job and passport aspirants. He stated, “The verifications for job and passport seekers are being hindered simply because some relative of the applicant was involved in something years or even decades ago. I request Prime Minister Sahib to intervene and ensure that verifications are not hindered on unnecessary grounds. People in Jammu and Kashmir have been contributing to peace and normalcy, realizing that peace has tremendous dividends in terms of prosperity and development. Therefore, New Delhi must reciprocate the peaceful aspirations of the people by initiating positive measures here.”

The president of the Apni Party issued a call for unity and urged people to remain united to protect their rights. He said, “I humbly request you to encourage unity among people and never allow sectarian divides in society. Our enemies are strong; therefore, we need to be united.”

He also urged people to reject the traditional political parties that have been deceiving them for years and decades. “You must tell these political tricksters and deceptive politicians that enough is enough. Don’t allow them to further exploit innocent people through deceptive slogans and fake promises. These parties have been treating the people of Jammu and Kashmir as if they were their slaves. They have always kept you allured with fake promises for their political gains.”

Reiterating his ideas about the Apni Party’s vision and agenda, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “We want a peaceful and prosperous future for the young generation and the generations to come. We cannot afford further destruction here. I request you to join hands with the Apni Party to realize peace, prosperity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir.”

“I promise you that Apni Party will never disappoint you. Unlike traditional political parties, especially family-based ones, we believe in the politics of truthfulness. We will never lie to you, nor will we mislead you,” he added.

He further said, “You must recall how these family-based parties had been hand in glove with the BJP for their political benefits, and now the same parties are opposing the BJP just to mislead the people of Jammu and Kashmir. You should never trust them again.”

On this occasion, the party’s senior vice president, Ghulam Hassan Mir, urged the centre to conduct the assembly polls, as well as the municipal and panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir without any further delay. “I want to ask New Delhi why the people of Jammu and Kashmir are being denied their right to choose their representatives. Why is this happening only in the Jammu and Kashmir region of India, which is considered the largest democracy in the world? I strongly demand the government to hold the due elections here as soon as possible.”

Taking a dig at those who suggest that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed large-scale development during the governor’s rule, Ghulam Hassan Mir said, “If development is solely a result of governor’s rule, then why not impose governor’s rule in every part of the country?”
