Six schools book berth for Indian Army Quiz 2023 Semifinals

Srinagar: Indian Army Quiz 2023 was organized by Chinar Corps for schools from Union Territory of J&K at Badami Bagh Cantt on 9 & 10 Nov 2023. 

In the quarter-finals held on Nov 09 2023 six schools from the UT namely APS Akhnoor, APS Kaluchak, APS Jammu Cantt, DPS Udhampur, BRB Shanti Vidya Peeth Udhampur and APS Dhar Road booked their berth for the Semifinals.

Students from Srinagar town, NCC Cadets, Army Personnel, Para military Personnel, Ex-Servicemen, Gallantry awardees, academician and prominent sportsperson were present to witness the exciting quiz competition which was conducted by famous Quizmasters staff Ms Seema Chari, Mr Akul Gurtu, Ms Neena Saxena and Mr Ashutosh Silmana. 

APS Dhar Road School from Udhampur came first & qualified for the finals. Chinar Corps Commander was the Chief Guest and Prof Nilofer Khan, Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University was the special guest for the semifinals. The event was attended by GOC, 31 Sub Area, Col Gaurav Bhatia (Retired), Col Pradeep Kumar (Retired), Hony Captain Bana Singh (Retired), Param Vir Chakra and other prominent gallantry award winners. 

The semifinalists and their mentors were awarded Certificates, Cash Prizes and Electronic Tablets for their splendid performance during the contest. The winner APS Dhar Road was awarded a Cheque of Rupees One Lakh.

Chinar Corps Commander, while interacting with semifinalists, motivated the students to work towards a developed India. On the sidelines of the India Army Quiz 2023, the students had an opportunity to witness a motivational movie on the Indian Army and its role in national development and its transformational change. To motivate the students to join the Indian Army in future, a state-of-the-art weapon and equipment display along with a photo gallery was also showcased.

APS Dhar Road will contest the National Finale which would comprise of Two Pre-Final Rounds and a Grand Finale in New Delhi. Indian Army has been organising this kind of event to promote budding talents and has made a major contribution to nation-building.
