‘Back to Village’: Sarmad Hafeez listens to public grievances, demands at Nesbal Sumbal

BANDIPORA: Secretary of Youth Services and Sports, Sarmad Hafeez, on Friday, visited Panchayat Nesbal, Bandipora, as a Visiting officer under the government’s fifth phase of the ambitious public outreach “Back to Village” programme.

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed, ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, and other senior officers of district administration were also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, the Secretary stated that the outreach program, B2V5, involves the people of Union Territory and the government officials in a joint effort to deliver the mission of equitable development across all rural areas.

Sarmad Hafeez, along with Dr Owais, inspected the stalls of various departments showcasing their services and achievements.

During the program, he interacted with PRIs and the public and listened to their issues concerning public welfare and development.

Also, senior citizens and representatives of Panchayats projected their grievances and demands before the visiting officer and sought redressal of the same.

While stressing on implementation of the program in letter and spirit, Sarmad Hafeez said the initiative is primarily aimed at energizing the Panchayats and directing development efforts in rural areas through community participation.

Deputy Commissioner, Dr Owais Ahmed, speaking on the occasion said that the B2V-5 programme is an ambitious mission of the government and district administration has taken notable initiatives across the district in facilitating a wide variety of on-spot services during the week-long programme.

Later, the Secretary distributed sports kits and certificates among the beneficiaries and interacted with the youth of Nesbal.
