‘25 years of Kargil Victory’: Quiz competition held at Chinar Auditorium of Badami Bagh Cantonment

Srinagar: To celebrate the 25 years of glorious Kargil Victory in 2024, the Indian Army is undertaking many adventurous, cultural and educational activities. 

One such initiative undertaken by the Army Welfare Education Society under the Adjutant General Branch of the Indian Army was to organize India’s biggest school quiz competition named Indian Army Quiz 2023.

Famous as “Battle of Mind”, the quiz made headlines when 32,441 schools across the country registered for Round 1 in online mode and as many as 3600 schools advanced into Round 2. After two online Rounds, only 216 schools in the country made it to quarter-finals of which 19 schools were from the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh.

A houseful Chinar Auditorium in Badami Bagh Cantonment witnessed, these 19 schools compete in gripping and fiercely fought Quarter Finals with four Rounds of 05 questions each and a rapid-fire round of 10 Questions. 200 school students and teachers from various schools from Srinagar town, NCC students, Army officers, gallantry awardees and prominent sports persons witnessed the exciting quarter-finals. GOC, 31 Sub Area was Chief Guest on the occasion. A

 total of 06 Teams qualified for the Semi Finals which are scheduled tomorrow. All participants and their mentors were awarded Certificates and Cash Prizes by the Chief Guest. 

The students got the opportunity to witness a motivating movie on the Indian Army, a weapons display and a photo gallery showcasing the achievements of the Indian Army. During the interaction with students, the GOC, 31 Sub Area motivated the students to join the Indian Army and contribute towards nation-building.
