Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that its Special Crime Wing has nabbed a “notorious fraudster” yesterday and subsequently booked him under Public Safety Act.
A police spokesperson said that the “fraudster” Manzoor Hussain Qadri, son of Ghulam Hassan Qadri of Poshwani Pattan in Baramulla was arrested from Sanatnagar area of Srinagar yesterday.
Police said that Qadri is a “habitual offender”, and was wanted in multiple cases of cheating and fraud. He had been evading arrest.
Police also said that Qadri used to lure gullible youth and extort money from them through deceitful means after promising them government jobs.
Police also shared details of various cases of fraud and cheating lodged against Qadri, saying that he has been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu under PSA.
