Srinagar: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two associates of Al-Badar, a banned terror outfit in Srinagar, and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
The duo, according to police, was arrested from Shalteng area on the outskirts of Srinagar during the preceding night. The arrest, police said, came following a tip off about their presence in the Shalteng area.
A pistol, two pistol magazines, 28 rounds and a hand-grenade have been recovered from their possession, a police official told ‘Kashmir Images’.
He said a case FIR No. 159 of 2023 under IPC sections 7/25 A and 4/5 Arms Act has been registered at Parimpora police station in this regard and investigations taken up.
He identified the arrested duo as Yawar Rashid Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, and Basit Nabi Bhat, son of Ghulam Nabi, both residents of Saderkot Bala, Bandipora.
