Cop shot dead by terrorists in Baramulla

Baramulla: A policeman was shot dead by terrorists on Tuesday in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir, officials said.

Head Constable Ghulam Mohammad Dar was shot at by the terrorists outside his residence at Wailoo, Kralpora, Tangmarg, the officials said.

They said Dar was rushed to Sub District Hospital Tangmarg where he was declared as brought dead.

Soon after the incident, Kashmir Zone Police posted on X: “#Terrorists fired upon one JKP personnel HC Gh Mohd Dar resident of Wailoo Kralpora in #Baramulla at his residence. Shifted to SDH Tangmarg for treatment. Health condition critical.”

In yet another post on X, police confirmed the death of the copy, posing: “Injured Police Personnel #succumbed to his injuries & attained #martyrdom. We pay our rich tributes to the #martyr & stand by his family at this critical juncture. Area has been cordoned off. Search operation going on. @JmuKmrPolice

This is the third such terrorist attack in as many days in Kashmir valley.

While a police officer was critically injured in firing by terrorists on Sunday in Srinagar, a labourer from Uttar Pradesh was shot dead in Pulwama district the next day.
