DDC Vice Chairperson Ganderbal, Bilal Ahmad, Deputy Commissioner, Shyambir, ADDC Ganderbal, President Municipal Council Ganderbal, ADC besides heads of various government departments including Revenue, Power, Health, Education, Public Works, FCS&CA, Agriculture and allied departments, were present to address the concerns specific to their respective sectors.

On the occasion, PRI representatives raised several concerns and development issues pertaining to their areas including the CT scan facility at District Hospital, widening of Pandach Beehama road, bridges, unscheduled power cuts, Lari Preng water supply scheme, additional ration stores in several areas, road widening and proper disposal of Waste at Tulamulla, beautification of town, removal of encroachments and other issues.

Addressing on the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary underscored the significance of public outreach camps saying that these gatherings provide a platform for citizens to voice their grievances and for the government to expedite their resolution through the appropriate channels.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment towards the development and welfare of the people, Zubair Ahmad assured the participants that their concerns would be thoroughly examined and redressed in a time-bound manner. He impressed upon the government officials to remain accessible to the public and fixed timelines for completion of various vital development projects especially pertaining to Jal Shakti, R&B and PMGSY.

The Commissioner Secretary enquired about ration distribution in the district and was apprised that the ration is distributed as per the quota with good quality. The locals demanded an additional quota of ration under all categories besides raising the issue of giving AAY ration cards to several non-eligible households. In this regard, the Commissioner Secretary asked the district administration to carry out verification of ration cards in all categories so that bogus ration cards are removed and households get ration cards as per entitlement.

On the occasion, PRIs highlighted progress achieved under various beneficiary-oriented schemes and flagship programs besides elaborating on developmental activities registered in the last 4 years in the district.

Regarding the ST Can facility at District Hospital, CMO Ganderbal informed that 2 CT scans have been sanctioned for DH and SDH Kangan which will be procured soon.

Similarly, the Executive Engineer JKPDCL informed that a sufficient number of buffer transformers are already available in the district.

Replying to unscheduled power cuts in the district, Zubair Ahmad appealed to the general masses to make judicious use of electricity during winters so that such unscheduled curtailments are avoided and transformers are saved from overloading which is the main cause of unscheduled power cuts.

Speaking on the occasion, DC urged upon the PRIs and locals to participate in other campaigns like Swachta Hi Sewa and Nasha Mukt campaign with zeal and enthusiasm.
