Army vehicle crushes forest officer to death in Handwara

Srinagar: A man was killed and two others, one among the brother of the deceased, critically injured in a road mishap along Bandipora Srinagar highway this morning, officials said.

They told GNS that a vehicle bearing registration number JK01J 5560 turned turtle at Shilvat, near Asrar Motors, resulting in injuries to three persons.

The injured trio identified as Bilal Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Rafeeq Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Majeed Dar and Saleem Ahmad Dar all residents of Gundroshan Narayan Bagh Ganderbal, were shifted to JVC Srinagar, where Saleem Ahmad Dar was declared as brought dead on arrival.

Confirming it, a police official told GNS that an FIR number 174/2023 under section 279, 337 IPC has been registered in this regard for further investigations. (GNS)
