Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in south Kashmir’s Anantnag and Kulgam districts and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
He said in Anantnag, police arrested Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat, resident of Arwani Bijbehara, and recovered 36.5 kgs of cannabis powder from his possession.
At Naid Check in Kulgam, police arrested Mohammad Hussain Ganie, son of Ghulam Rasool Ganie of Naid Check Nassu Badragund and recovered eight kgs of poppy straw from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in both these instances for further investigation, police said.
