Drug peddler booked under PIT-NDPS Act

Srinagar: Police in Budgam have booked a “notorious” drug peddler under PIT-NDS Act, a police spokesperson informed Sunday.

He said the “notorious” drug peddler identified as Ghulam Nabi Ganaie alias Sher Puj, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganaie of Chadoora has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority. The booked drug peddler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail Jammu.

Police said that many cases are registered against Ganaie in various police stations and that he was promoting drug addiction by supplying drugs to local youth of Budgam district. Despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse and trade by supplying drugs to local youth, police said.
