Commr Secy I&C chairs interactive session with Trade Bodies, Industrial Associations

SRINAGAR: In a collaborative effort to stimulate economic growth and foster business development in the region, the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) today convened an interactive session with the trade bodies and industrial associations.

The event was part of the ongoing activities of Investor Facilitation Meet.

The interactive session witnessed the active participation of a diverse spectrum of industrial associations and business bodies including the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), CA Store Association, Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Development Organizations (KCCDO), Meeras, Tahafuz and various Small-Scale Industrial Associations.

Commissioner Secretary of Industry and Commerce (I&C), Vikramjit Singh, who chaired the session, emphasized the critical importance of engaging with key stakeholders in shaping the future business landscape of the region.

Vikramjit Singh expressed gratitude for the robust participation and thoughtful contribution of trade bodies and associations in the successful conduct of the event. He emphasized the government’s commitment towards creating a business-friendly environment, where the private sector plays a significant role in the economic growth of the region.

Vikramjit Singh, while addressing the session, reaffirmed the government’s dedication towards implementing constructive changes based on the recommendations received during the event. He also encouraged ongoing collaboration between the government and industry stakeholders, reinforcing the need for a unified effort to drive innovation and sustainable business development in the region.

During the interactive session, representatives from these esteemed trade bodies and associations actively provided their invaluable insights, suggestions and recommendations. Their inputs encompassed various aspects of business activities in Jammu and Kashmir including spanning investment opportunities, regulatory reforms, infrastructure development and the overall business climate.

The session was marked by a vibrant exchange of ideas and a strong sense of camaraderie among all the stakeholders, underscoring the shared goal of fostering economic growth and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, MD JKTPO, Khalid Jahangir, underscored the significance of the gathering in fostering economic growth and business development in the region. He appreciated the presence of dignitaries from various trade associations and industry sectors, recognizing their invaluable contribution towards transforming the business landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.

The interactive session served as a testament to the commitment of JKTPO and the government of Jammu and Kashmir to create a favourable investment climate and promote economic activities that will benefit the entire region.

The interactive session was attended by Javid Ahmed Tenga, Chairman of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Vicky Shaw, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Bilal Ahmad, KCCDO, Khursheed, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Irfan Guju, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), GN Dar, Meeras Carpets, Mohammad Rafiq, Tahafuz and other representatives from various associations in Kashmir.
