Srinagar: The annual Urs of Sheikh Noor-u-Din Noorani (RA), popularly known as Sheikh-ul-Alam, was observed at Chrar-e-Sharief in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday with religious fervour.
Thousands of devotees from across the valley thronged the Chrar-e-Sharief shrine housing the mausoleum of Kashmir’s patron saint Sheikh Noor-u-Din (also known as Nund Reshi), for special prayers, salutations, and supplications.
On the occasion, religious scholars highlighted the life, religious services, teachings and spiritual strength of the saint, who had devoted his life to preaching Islam.
