Srinagar: A minor girl died after she was hit by a dumper truck in Reshipora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Officials said that the 10-year-old Adeeba Arshid, daughter of Arshid Ahmad Shiekh, resident of Reshipora, was hit by a dumper (JK01AE-3177), resulting in injuries to her. She was shifted to hospital immediately, however, she could not be saved.
Police said that the driver of the truck involved in the accident, identified as Mohammad Haneef Khanday, son of Ali Mohammad Khanday, resident of Meej Pampore, had fled the spot but was arrested an hour later and the vehicle was also seized.
