Why 50+ party BJP shies away to face elections: JKPCC Chief
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Reasi/Udhampur: Taking a dig at the BJP, which used to claim that it would win 50 plus seats, Congress has questioned where is 50+ party & why has it suddenly gone into low profile & shies away to face elections.

JKPCC Chief Vikar Rasool Wani said this while addressing a largely attended workers’ convention of District Reasi & Udhampur today. He was accompanied by PCC Working President Raman Bhalla, Manmohan Singh, Indu Pawar, Dina Nath Bhagat, DCC President Rajesh Sadhotra, & DCC President Udhampur KC Bhagat, Rakesh Wazir, Bhupinder Singh Master Saleel, Pritam Singh, Munshi Ram Salalia, Adv Sirinder Khajuria, Vinod Khajuria & Jatin Vasist, Balbir Singh & other senior leaders.

He asked the BJP why the Mission 50plus party is now running away from holding ULB and Panchayat elections on time and finding security reasons & other excuses to defer the ULB polls, scheduled this month. “Why can’t it face elections, he quipped, because BJP fears defeat,” he asked.

“The administration including the election authority had made all preparations and arrangements including preparations of voter lists, rotation of reserved wards, and inviting objections within a short time of four days with a further extension of just four days only but suddenly all have gone into hibernation, without even any official deferment of poll exercise,” Vikar said.

“No doubt Congress had raised a very genuine issue about the said exercise, being carried out without the state election Commission (SEC) for ULBs, which is against the Constitutional provisions but there is total silence after a high-level review of the ruling party in Delhi, recently, where local BJP leadership is stated to have pleaded for deferring these polls,” he said.

“However, BJP’s defeat is certain, whenever polls are held but how long the people shall remain deprived of elections from ULB, Panchayats up to assembly elections, only for the reason that BJP fears defeat, which will have a negative fall out on Lok Sabha elections,” Vikar added.

Demanding immediate announcements of ULB polls which are due to be held, the JKPCC Chief said that the government and ruling BJP should clarify the situation to the people and political parties, immediately, without any further delay.
