Union Secretary L&E inspects works at ESIC Hospital Budgam

BUDGAM/SRINAGAR: Union Secretary Labour and Employment (L&E), Arti Ahuja today visited Budgam and inspected the ongoing works on Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospital at SIDCO Industrial Complex, Ompora, here.

During the visit, the Union Secretary inspected various development works under execution in the premier health facility. Interacting with the officers on the occasion, the Secretary highlighted that this facility will cater to the medical needs of insured persons and their families.

The Secretary further remarked that the Union Government is committed to providing better healthcare facilities across J&K and many progressive initiatives have been undertaken in the field of the health sector to ensure the best healthcare facilities are being provided to the people.

She further said that the government has taken various milestone steps for the welfare and progress of labour class to uplift their socio-economic conditions

Meanwhile, the Secretary also visited the ESIC health facility in Sonwar and reviewed its functioning.

Interacting with the medical officers and paramedical staff on the occasion, the Secretary emphasised upon them to provide the best health care to the people.

Later on, the Union Secretary also visited the regional Employees Provident Fund Office (EPFO) office at Batamaalo and chaired a meeting to review the status of transitory activities of JKEPFO to the Central Provident Fund Organisation.

During her visit, the Union Secretary was accompanied by the Secretary, Labour and employment Rehana Batul; the Chief Executive Officer, of J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Munir ul Islam; the Labour Commissioner of J&K, Abdul Rashid War; the Director of Employment, Nisar Ahmad Wani and other senior officers of the department.
