DDC Chairman Budgam, winner of SAFF C’ship, others call on LG

SRINAGAR: Nazir Ahmad Khan, Chairman, District Development Council, Budgam called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan today.

The DDC Chairman expressed gratitude to the Lt Governor for the comprehensive development initiatives being undertaken in Budgam District.

Rafi Ahmad Mir, a former legislator from Pahalgam also met the Lt Governor and discussed various developmental issues in the area.

A delegation of National Awardee Teachers of J&K led by Wali Mohammad Bhat met the Lt Governor and put forth issues of the National Awardee teachers.

Later, Dr. Farida Khan, BDC Chairperson Sopore also called on the Lt Governor and discussed public importance issues of her area.

While interacting with the public representatives and the members of the delegations, the Lt Governor assured them of appropriate action on all the genuine issues and demands presented during the meetings.

The winners of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-16 Championship from Jammu Kashmir called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan today.

The delegation was comprised of Ishfaq Ahmed, Head Coach; Majid Yousuf, Manager of the Team and Abdul Salah, the champion Football Player from Khanabal, Anantnag. 

The delegation was part of the Indian National Football Team and emerged as Champions at the SAFF Championship held in Thimphu Bhutan.

The Lt Governor congratulated the Indian National Team members for the great victory and bringing laurels to Jammu Kashmir and the Nation.

The coaching camp for the Indian National Team for the SAFF U-16 Championship was held at Srinagar from 20th July till 29th August 2023.

Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary of Youth Services and Sports; Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council and Arun Malhotra, former Indian Footballer and technical Member of All India Football Federation were also present.
