Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession, police spokesman informed Saturday.
He said at a checkpoint at Malpora Chowk, police intercepted a vehicle (JK02-2950) with two persons — Abdul Qayoom Gojree, son of Mohammad Masheer Gojree of Pawan-Pur Bidda, Reasi, and Showkat Ali Malik, son of Mohammad Shafi Malik of Daman, Kathua — on board.
During the search, 10 kgs of poppy straw-like contraband substance was recovered from the said vehicle, following which both persons were arrested and the vehicle seized.
A case has been registered for further investigation.
