Srinagar: A man lost his life while 11 others were injured in a road accident that took place in Tral sub division of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.

An official told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a WagonR vehicle collided with Tavera at Baja Kol along Tral-Nowdal road, resulting in injuries to at least 12 persons.

He said that all of them were shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Tral from where nine were referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment.

He added that Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Farooq Ahmad Bhat and Asadullah from Sharifabad Tral, Raja Noor ul Hassan and Rutba Zehra from Paneer Jagir, Showkat Ahmad Bhat Satoora, Javid Bhat from Lalpora Kahlil and Bazila Jan from Lalgam Tral were shifted to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital for treatment after getting first aid at SDH Tral.

However, the official said that Asadullah Bhat from Sharifabad Tral succumbed to his injuries at SMHS hospital.

He further added that Fayaz Ahmad from Sharifabad Tral has been referred to Bone and Joint Hospital Tral while three others including Iqra Jan from Shahabad Tral and Leenah Jan from Bahoo Awantipora are undergoing treatment at SDH Tral.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and started an investigation into the matter. (KNO)
