Providing every possible technical guidance to farming community: Dir Agri

SRINAGAR: The Director of Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal, today visited various fields of Anantnag, Kulgam districts and took stock of the agriculture scenario in these areas.

During the visit, the Director of Agriculture held interactions with the concerned farmers and took feedback from them regarding various interventions by the department.

Speaking to the farmers at different places, the Director of Agriculture reiterated the department’s commitment to providing every possible technical guidance to the farming community during their crop cultivation operations.

He impressed upon the farmers to go for the diversification of crop cultivation. He asked them to take full advantage of the different schemes and programmes implemented by the department for the development of the agriculture sector in the region.

The Director of Agriculture expressed satisfaction with the crop conditions of paddy, vegetable crops, and other agricultural crops in the area.

Iqbal exhorted upon the concerned officers to work shoulder to shoulder with the farming community so that the said targets under various projects of HADP could be met.

Later, the Director of Agriculture inspected some innovative interventions by the department including maize trail (SATYA-92), Urd zero tilled land successfully, in the area.

He also inspected the Bio- phonetic Muskbudhji rice trail grown on a rooftop in the district Kulgam.
