Energy Conservation Awareness prog held at MSME Office Srinagar for MSMEs

SRINAGAR: Electrical Inspection Division, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department, Power Trading Corporation in association with Br MSME Development and Facilitation Office Srinagar today organized an Awareness program on Energy Conservation and Initiatives of BEE to be adopted in industries/ MSMEs to make them energy efficient.

The programme also educated the participants regarding the many financial schemes of BEE for the MSME and other Industries.

Saheel Allaqband, Assistant Director, MSME, Nazir Ahmad Wani, Executive Engineer, Electrical Inspection Division, Srinagar, Manjeet Singh Head PTC North zone, and Presidents/Representatives from some Industrial Estates participated in the awareness program.

Saheel emphasized on the role of MSMEs with regard to the conservation of energy. MSMEs in today’s era have no option but to be energy efficient to be competitive in the market. He said support from BEE to establish an Energy Management Centre to conduct the energy audits for facilitation and look out for loopholes within MSMEs may be of great help.

There is a need for awareness programs in all industrial estates of the Kashmir Region, he added.

Wani gave his point of view on the importance of energy efficiency in all sectors in general and the Industrial Sector in particular. He assured full support from JKPDD being the State Designated Agency (SDA).

Manjeet Singh, Project Head, PAT Cell, North India, and Zubair Nasir, Project Associate, PAT Cell, Jammu and Kashmir gave a detailed presentation on Energy Conservation and Initiatives of BEE in Industries.

Syed Fazal Illahi, President of BAMK Industrial Association, and other Industrialists appreciated the initiative and showed positive responses, they also raised a few of their concerns in this regard during the interactive session.

Mudasar Amin, AEE, EIDS; Sayim, Project Officer, EEB Cell Jammu and Kashmir were also present during the Awareness program.
