Handwara: A 6-year-old girl was mauled to death by a leopard in a Handwara village on Saturday evening.
According to reports, the victim Subhat Jan, was playing outside her home in Nichama Rajwar in Handwara, when a leopard pounced on her and dragged her into dense forests nearby. Upon hearing her cries, family members and locals chased the leopard and managed to retrieve the girl.
She was rushed to GMC Handwara in critical condition where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
