Srinagar: Former J&K Pradesh Congress (JKPCC) Committee Chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Sunday said that BJP Govt was misleading the public on development, good governance employment, and various other fronts “after downgrading J&K into two UTs” to cover its failures.

“The deliberate delay in restoring the democratic system in J&K has exposed the ill intentions and the lust to rule J&K directly from the Centre,” said Mir.

“J&K has suffered enormously on all fronts, lack of development, extreme unemployment, economic backwardness, lies, and deceit have exposed the BJP’s misrule, with the result it(BJP) is shying away from the elections while making every effort to divert the attention of the public from the real issues to cover failures,” he said.

He, according to the JKPCC spokesperson, made these comments during his visit to various areas in the Dooru segment of South Kashmir where he (Mir) interacted with the local delegations who complained about the lack of health facilities and subsequent failures to resolve other issues concerning the public.

Mir expressed serious concern over the Staff dearth especially doctors and other paramedical Staff in Model Hospital Dooru, with the result, the public of Dooru and other adjacent areas suffer a lot and have to move to Anantnag or Srinagar for their treatment. “The staff strength sanctioned for the hospital has so far not been provided which reflects how serious J&K administration seems towards health infrastructure. Similar situations are being witnessed in other sectors,” Mir added and asked the Govt to accept the failures rather than making false claims aiming to mislead people.

The former JKPCC Chief reiterated that elections must be conducted in J&K as that will only ensure proper representation, justice, and redressal of public grievances.

Meanwhile, Mir extended greetings on the eve of the 77th Independence Day and urged the people to celebrate the occasion with great enthusiasm, as the ID reminds us of the sacrifices of freedom fighters, who laid down their lives for the prestige and honor of the Nation.

Mir further said that this significant occasion (I-Day) should inspire the BJP to work for the development and well-being of the people rather than eroding the authority of democratic institutions and indulging in divisive politics, which are certainly a bigger threat to the very foundation of democratic setup in India.
