Kilo Force organizes ex-servicemen rally at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, B’pora

Srinagar: Kilo Force showcased Indian Army’s commitment towards its veterans and their families by organizing braveheart families and Ex-Servicemen rally at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora on July 25th, 2023. 

“The rally was a huge success and attracted more than 300 ex-servicemen and their dependents from North Kashmir. On the occasion of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, this special Ex-Servicemen rally was conducted to pay tributes to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during the Kargil War of 1999,” said PRO (Defence), Srinagar.

“Maj Gen Mohit Seth, General Officer Commanding, Kilo Force interacted with the Veer Naris, Ex-Servicemen and their dependents. The rally lived upto its motto of “Sampark- Swasthya- Sahuliyat” by reaching out to the maximum number of veterans and families of ex-warriors and ameliorating their hardships concerning various issues related to pension, documentation, banking, welfare schemes, medical and Aadhar cards, etc,” the PRO said.

“A number of facilitation stalls were established to cater for various aspects of Ex-Servicemen viz Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, Resettlement, Sainik Welfare Boards helpline, Record Offices, State Bank of India, J&K Bank, HDFC Bank, and Civil administration. The rally provided a joint forum for the veterans and their families to interact with both military and civil agencies and resolve their long-pending issues,” he said.

The PRO further said: “Speaking on the occasion, the General Officer Commanding pledged Indian Army’s solidarity with its extended family of veterans and their dependents and assured the gathering that the government and Army are sensitive to their needs and would take every step to ensure they are cared for and looked after well. The GOC also reiterated the Army’s goal of providing quality healthcare, dignity, and problem resolution to Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and Veterans.”

“The event was the culmination of a dedicated effort by the local Rashtriya Rifles battalion that had extensively interacted with the veterans and prepared an extensive data bank to systematically redress grievances faced by veterans in a quick time through multiple agencies during the rally,” he said.

“The event was an endeavor on the part of the Indian Army to recognize and honor the veterans, fallen heroes, and their families for their unflinching loyalty and selfless service to the Nation and the Indian Army for which we will always remain indebted,” he added.
