‘Theatre Federation of Kashmir’ holds meeting in Srinagar

Srinagar: An important meeting of the ‘Theatre Federation of Kashmir’, which came into being on 30th May 2023, was held today at a local restaurant in Srinagar.

Many issues related to the theater were discussed in the meeting. It was pledged that the ‘Theatre Federation of Kashmir’ will work rigorously for the welfare of theatre and theatre artists of the Valley and will also work to solve their genuine issues.

In the meeting, all the members associated with the federation expressed their confidence in the current ad-hoc Executive Body and expressed that they are very much satisfied with the work of the current Executive Body. 

At the end of the meeting, by consensus, the representatives of the theatre groups affiliated to the federation ‘elected the executive body for the next ‘2’ (two) years permanently.’ The elected Executive Body of the federation comprises Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan (President), Shaikh Mohammad Haneef (Vice President) Manzoor Ahmad Mir (General Secretary), Farhat Sidiqui (Treasurer), and Gulshan Badrani (Media Secretary).

In addition to this, Mushtaq Baqal, Gul Javaid Khan, Gul Riyaz, Manzoor Malik, Mairaj ud din Bhat (Azad), Mairaj ud din Butt (KPC), Dilshad Mustafa, Riyaz Ahmad Mir, Nazir Ahmad Ganai, and Ashiq Masoom were inducted into the Executive Body as executive members. 

Representatives of Theatre groups who attended the meeting of the federation, include Kashmir Valley Theatre (Srinagar), Mehak Dramatic Club (Srinagar), Young Dramatists Society (Srinagar), Azad Dramatic Club (Ganderbal), Dilshad Cultural Forum (Sumbal, Sonawari), CEEO (Budgam), Gulshan Cultural Forum (Badran, Budgam), JK Cultural Revolution (Srinagar), Kashmir Performers Collective (Pattan, Baramulla) and ACT (Srinagar).
