“Soon after the incident was reported, a search operation was launched by Police, SDRF, NDRF, Army, and MARCOS with active assistance by locals to trace the girl,” they said adding that no clue was found until this afternoon.

Pertinent to mention here that the victim was among three minors who drowned in river Pohru after the trio tried to retrieve the slippers of one of the girls from the water source.

Two of the drowned minors identified as Zehran Javid (11), son of Javid Ahmad Dar of Jagerpora, and Sadiya Fayaz (9), daughter of Fayaz Ahmad Mir resident of Mughalpora Nagri, were rescued with the timely intervention of locals.
