DDC Chairperson Ganderbal reviews SANJY-2023 preparations at Baltal

SRINAGAR: The Chairperson of District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq conducted an extensive tour of Baltal to review preparations for the Annual Amarnath Yatra which begins early next month.

During the visit, DDC Chairperson discussed with concerned authorities the availability of facilities for the pilgrims, including pitching of tents, public utilities, healthcare, electricity, water supply and sanitation, and disaster management besides other related arrangements.

She directed sanitation staff to ensure the highest standards of sanitation in the base camp. She also visited Baltal base hospital to review medical response facilities in place.

Meanwhile, DDC Chairperson also chaired a meeting and took a detailed review of the arrangements being made for the smooth conduct of the Yatra.

Nodal Officer for SANJY via Baltal Axis), Dr. Raghav Langer, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shyambir Singh, ADDC Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, Former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar and other officers and officials were present during the meeting.

Nuzhat Ishfaq expressed gratitude to the administration for making available all sufficient arrangements for the yatris on the traditional route of Baltal.

The DDC Chairperson was accompanied by DDC members of Wakura Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, Ganderbal C Moulvi Mohd Yousuf, other PRIs, and prominent members of the Jabbar Foundation.

It is also to mention here that Jabbar Foundation has opened a social service camp to serve the yatris.
