Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Tuesday asked the LG Administration to make adequate arrangements for ensuring the smooth conduct of Eid-ul-Azha festivities.

In a statement released from the party headquarters, Sagar said, “Elaborate arrangements should be made for ensuring cleanliness and other related things for the general convenience of the devotees at all the Eidgahs and Jamia Mosques.”

He asked all the stakeholder departments to work in tandem to ensure that people observe the auspicious occasion in a hassle-free manner. “It’s for the PDD, FCSC, PHE, and other line departments to ensure basic and effective amenities to people on Arfa & Eid observance. Checking squads should be deputed to keep a check on undue profiteering and black marketing. Municipalities in towns and cities across J&K should ensure cleanliness around Eidgah, Major shrines, and Jamias’,” he added.

Calling for rationalizing the prices of sacrificial animals, Sagar impressed upon the administration to ensure that government rate lists are strictly adhered to by traders.
