Anantnag: Former Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad today sought adequate arrangements for the public on the very auspicious occasion of Eid Ul Adha.

Mir also demanded the release of salaries in favor of various Govt employees including working indifferent demands while urging J&K LG to personally look into the employee’s issues for their timely redressal.

Ghulam Ahmad Mir who presided over a Block level worker meeting of Block Sagam in the Kokernag area of Anantnag District had a detailed discussion with the party workers over the socio-political scenario obtaining in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mir also received feedback with regard to multiple problems confronting people in the absence of the elected Govt which has rendered common people underpresented at every appropriate forum. The Government is drawing sadistic pleasure out of punishing people on one pretext or the other.

Mir also expressed concern over the economic crisis confronting people due to the extreme rise in unemployment and many other developmental and economic issues concerning common people and slammed the BJP Govt at the Centre and LG Govt for failing to win the trust and confidence of the people.

Mir termed the actions and attitude of the bearcats towards common people disappointing and urged the Govt to streamline the administration to ensure that people’s and employees’ grievances are addressed. “There have been reports of mismanagement in different Govt departments in the UT, which has to be taken seriously and their functioning must be made smooth and transparent in the larger interest of the common people.”

On this occasion, Ghulam Ahmad Mir sought adequate arrangements including electricity, availability of ration, drinking water, and various other facilities, besides keeping a vigil on price hikes on the eve of Eid Ul Adha. “There have been reports of overpricing on essentials in the markets, but the irony is that the administration is not bothered about these anti-people measures, which is not only unfortunate but highly condemnable,” the former JKPCC President added.

Mir further told the workers that the Congress Party and people of J&K in unison shall continue fighting for the restoration of democratic rights and statehood to J&K, which are being denied under a well-planned conspiracy by the BJP Govt in order to evade the humiliating defeat it (BJP) is set to face in elections.
