Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, officials informed Friday.
They said police at Chenigam, Frisal, intercepted an auto (JK18B-2131) driven by Rouf Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Chenigam, and recovered 17 Kgs of poppy straw-like contraband substance from it. The driver has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody while the vehicle was also seized, and a formal case under relevant sections of law registered for further investigation, police said.
