Srinagar: With an aim to provide financial support to the families of the martyred/deceased, retired Police personnel/ SPOs, the Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 23.95 lakh as Welfare Relief. 

He has also sanctioned a scholarship/special reward of over Rs. 5.98 lakh in favour of 72 wards of martyred/deceased & serving police personnel/SPOs.

The DGP has sanctioned welfare relief of Rs 9.85 lakhs in favour of NoK of Martyred Police personnel/SPOs to ease up their financial distress. The welfare relief amount that ranges from Rs. 20000 to Rs. 50000 is sanctioned out of J&K Police Pariwar Fund.

He has also sanctioned welfare relief of rupees 14.10 lakh in favour of retired policemen/NoK of deceased Police personnel for self-treatment or treatment of their dependent, marriage of son/daughter, and also to ease up financial distress. The welfare relief has been given out of the Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.

Meanwhile, the DGP has also sanctioned scholarship/meritorious scholarships and special rewards of over Rs. 5.98 lakh in favour of 72 wards of martyred, deceased and serving police personnel/SPOs.

A scholarship of Rs 4.51 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 20 wards of Police martyrs and 36 wards of deceased Police personnel. These wards are pursuing education between primary to higher education. Scholarship has been sanctioned for the academic year 2022-2023 out of the Central Police Welfare Fund & Central Police Education Fund.

Similarly meritorious scholarship of Rs. 1.17 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of 13 meritorious wards of serving Police personnel who have secured 80% and above marks in the annual examination of graduation/post-graduation during the academic session 2022. 

The amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund and a Special reward of Rs. 10000 each has also been sanctioned out of J&K Police Pariwar Fund with Commendation Certificate Class-1st in favour of three wards of serving SPOs for qualifying Competitive Examination (BOPEE) during the year-2022-23.
