Bazm e Adab Gulmarg Kashmir hosts Muzaffar Azim Day at Townhall Tangmarg

Srinagar: Townhall Tangmarg was abuzz with literary fervour as Bazm e Adab Gulmarg Kashmir organized a one-day seminar on one of the prominent poets Muzaffar Azim, which commenced with the tribute to Azim. 

Eminent poets from the Kashmir Valley graced the event, and Tousif Raza conducted the ceremony, adding scholarly insights to the occasion.

The ceremony was presided over by Dr Shad Ramzan the prominent poet, writer, and critic of Kashmir and the presidium was shared by Khursheed Khamosh, Hilal Kashmiri, and Shahnaz Rasheed as well

In his address, Dr Shad Ramzan said, “Azim is not only a great poet but a blessing but is a blessing and mercy of Allah and we always ought to remember and honour our such asset further in thought-provoking message for literary figures.” 

He emphasized the importance of Azim in today’s scientific age, where the soulful essence of his poetry can transcend boundaries and inspire the human race for many centuries. 

Shahnaz Rasheed, a renowned poet, echoed similar sentiments, saying, “Azim holds profound significance in the literary field of Kashmiri language life, as he imparts timeless wisdom and touches the heart.”

The seminar was full of emotions and feelings. The ceremony was followed by a symposium, which was also presided over by Hilal Kashmiri with the presence of Dr Shad Ramzan Shahnaz Rasheed, and Khursheed Khamosh in the presidency. The symposium was conducted by Tousif Raza, a young prominent poet, and writer, who facilitated engaging discussions on various aspects of poetry. 

The participants shared their thoughts on the spiritual and philosophical aspects of poetry, its relevance in contemporary times, and its impact on society.

The event received positive reactions from the attendees. Many of the participants expressed, “The ceremony and the symposium were a true celebration of literature, and it was inspiring to see such esteemed poets coming together to share their insights.” 

Another participant, Rahat Rafiq, remarked, “The discussions during the symposium were enlightening, and they reinforced the significance of poetry in our lives. It was a memorable event.”

The one-day seminar organized by Bazm e Adab Gulmarg Kashmir was a fitting tribute to Muzaffar Azim and the tri-cultural heritage of poetry through the Tarhii symposium, providing a platform for poets and literary enthusiasts to come together, celebrate, and engage in meaningful conversations on the enduring relevance of poetry in the modern world. Mir Afroz Afroz presented a welcome address and a vote of thanks was presented by Hilal Kashmiri.
