Srinagar: A scooty rider was killed while the pillion rider was injured in a road accident in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir Anantnag district on Sunday.
Quoting an official, the news agency Kashmir Scroll reported a scooty and a Wagon-R collided at Pazalpora Bijbehara. In the incident scooty driver Ali Mohammad Bhat (55), a resident of Pangzam, Kokernag, died on the spot while pillion rider Rouf Ahmad Malik (32), also from Panzgam, was injured critically. He was removed to GMC Anantnag for treatment.
A case (FIR No. 128/2023 u/s 279, 337 IPC) has been registered and an investigation has been taken up, police said.
