NCC transforms youth into disciplined & good human beings: Div Com Kashmir

SRINAGAR: National Cadet Corps (NCC) training transforms the behavior of youth by making them disciplined, good human beings and instills in them the spirit of social service.

This was stated by Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri today while chairing a meeting regarding the functioning of NCC in Kashmir.

At the outset of the meeting, Brigadier Kuldeep Singh Kalsi through PPT gave an overview regarding the functioning of NCC, objectives, infrastructure requirement, and filling of vacancies in Senior and Junior Wings, besides land requirements for new training camps in Anantnag, Baramulla, and Ganderbal.

The meeting was informed that the chunk of land has been identified, however, there is a need for joint inspection by the District Administration and NCC to explore the feasibility of establishing NCC Training Camps.

Addressing the meeting, Div Com asked the Director of Colleges and concerned officers of the School Education Department to enlist students for NCC. He also asked Director Colleges to share the details of Colleges where in-campus training may be provided to candidates.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, ADC Baramulla, ADC Ganderbal- through VC besides officers of Royal Springs Golf Course, Sports Council, PWD (R&B), Manasbal Dev Authority, NSS Kashmir University Hazratbal Srinagar and Bharat Scouts and Guides, Kashmir.
