KULGAM: In order to take stock of the implementation status of SBM-G in the district, the Director of Rural Sanitation Jammu & Kashmir, Charandeep Singh today visited several panchayats of Kulgam district.
The Director of Rural Sanitation began his tour from Chekpora panchayat where he inspected a plastic waste management unit coming up at an estimated cost of 16 lac.
Later, he also took a first-hand appraisal of solid waste management in individual households and also visited solid waste management in various Panchayats in the district. He took stock of progress made in the construction of a plastic waste management unit at Panchayat Mirhama coming up at an estimated cost of 13.80 lacs.
The Director also visited Kilam Panchayat to ascertain the progress of the construction of segregation sheds in the panchayat.
The Director also interacted with PRI members, youth, and inhabitants of Kilam and other areas and people were apprised of various aspects of SBM(G).
He also expressed satisfaction with the progress of the department with regard to the implementation of SBM-G and impressed upon all field functionaries to complete SBM targets within the given time frame so as to achieve the status of the ODF-Plus model within set timelines.
During the visit, the Director was accompanied by ACD, Mohammad Imran; ACP Shurjeel Ali, BDOs, and other officers.
