Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla and Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Baramulla, during naka checking at Main Market Tangmarg, police arrested one Latief Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir of Nadirgund Kahipora, after recovering 40 grams of cannabis-like substance from his possession.
One Khalid Rashid Lone, son of Abdul Rashid Lone of Hanjiwera Pattan, was arrested at Kungamdara Pattan and 50 grams of cannabis-like substance recovered from his possession, police said.
At Saidpora Uri, 80 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from the possession of Mehmood Shah, son of Ghulam Nabi Shah, resident of Nambla Uri. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station.
In Kulgam, one Mushtaq Ahmad Thoker, son of Mohammad Hayat Thoker of Kadder was arrested and 2.3 Kgs of cannabis powder and 50 grams of processed cannabis was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigation has been initiated, police said.
