Annual festival of Kheer Bhavani celebrated at Tikker

KUPWARA: Hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits thronged the temple of Ragnya Devi (Kheer Bhawani temple )at Tikker area of Kupwara district today on Jyeshtha Ashtami to celebrate the annual festival of Kheer Bhavani and paid obeisance at the holy temple.

Devotees participated in Pooja Archana, and Havan, and offered floral tributes to the idol of the Mata. Walking barefoot, the devotees carried rose petals, and milk and offered tribute to the goddess.

The annual festival presented the emotional scenes of harmonious coexistence, communal harmony, and cultural bonding between the Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims, as people from all walks of life, irrespective of their faith, had gathered at Tikker Kupwara.

The district administration of Kupwara had made elaborate arrangements for the pilgrims.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray also visited the holy temple along with district officers to take stock of arrangements for the pilgrims.

Meanwhile, the District administration had made adequate arrangements for drinking water, health, transport facilities, and tents for the devotees.

Devotees thanked the District administration, especially DC Kupwara for making all the arrangements for devotees.
