Srinagar: Police on Sunday said it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

In Baramulla, during checking near Hospital Crossing, police recovered 15 grams of brown sugar-like substance from the possession of one person, who was arrested, police spokesman informed without sharing the identity of the arrested person.

Similarly in Kulgam, during checking at Damidulla Crossing, one Tariq Ahmad Kuchay, son of Abdul Majeed Kuchay of Kadder Kulgam was arrested after five cannabis sticks (105 grams) were recovered from his possession.

Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations in both these instances, police said.
