Srinagar: State Investigation Unit presented chargesheet before the designated NIA Court in Srinagar against five “terrorist associates” today, officials informed Thursday.

In a statement, police spokesman informed that State Investigation Unit (SIU-II) Srinagar produced chargesheet of case FIR number 41/2022 under section 7/25 A.Act, 13, 18, 23, 39, UA(P) Act of Police Station Shalteng before designated NIA Court Srinagar.

The case pertains to the recovery of huge cache of arms and ammunition by police, 2RR and 44 Bn CRPF at a checkpoint at Narbal tri-junction November 20, 2022 from the possession of three “terrorist associates” — Rouf Safeer Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar of Khanday Mohallah Pattan; Javiad Ahmed Khanday, son of Ghulam Hassan Khanday of Khanday Mohallah Pattan; and Mohammad Iqbal Dhobee, son of Manzoor Ahmed Dhobee, resident of Aram Mohallah Pattan.

“They were transporting the arms and ammunition in a TATA vehicle (JK15-2207) from Srinagar to Pattan on the instance of one terrorist @ Hamza linked with proscribed terrorist outfit LeT. The said vehicle as proceeds of terrorism and on prior approval was attached for further proceedings,” spokesman said.

He said further investigation in the case resulted in nomination of “other two terrorist associates” — Shakir Ahmed Zargar, son of Nisar Ahmed Zargar, resident of Khanday Mohallah Pattan; Waris Ramzan Gojre, son of Mohammad Ramzan Gojre, resident of Malpora Pattan.

The investigation of the case has been closed against said five terrorist associates under section 173 CrPC and a chargesheet was produced before the court today. The investigation of the case will continue under section 173(8) CrPC in order to effect the arrest of other involved persons and determination of details after obtaining expert opinions, spokesman said.
