Srinagar: Police in Kulgam have solved theft cases by arresting four accused persons and recovered stolen property from their possession, police spokesman informed Wednesday.

He said acting on several complaints of theft, police rounded up some suspects, and during questioning four of them confessed their involvement, the spokesman said.

He said subsequently stolen property including a Maruti-800 car and four batteries were recovered from the possession of Mujeeb-ur-Rehman alias Faheem Sofi, son of Abdul Rahman Sofi, resident of Astan Mohalla Kulgam; Danish Ahmad Ahanger, son of Ghulam Nabi Ahanger of Reshipora Kulgam; Bilal Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Redwani Kulgam; and Aashiq Hussain Lone, son of Abdul Rashid Lone, resident of Naibasti Qaimoh.

Further investigation in the case is in progress and more recoveries and arrests are expected, police said.
