Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug-peddlers in Handwara and Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession, officials informed Thursday.
They said a drug-peddler identified as Tahir Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Khanpora Magam Handwara was arrested at Qalamabad Market, and 60 grams of cannabis was recovered from his possession.
Masroor Ahmad Zargar, son of Mohammad Asadullah Zargar of Okay, Kulgam, was arrested in Okay village and four grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations in both these instances and investigations initiated, police said.
