Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug-peddlers in Handwara and Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession, officials said Thursday.

In Handwara, a police party at Dahama crossing arrested one Mohammad Afzal Shah, son of Abdul Gafar of Gund Momin, and recovered 30 grams of cannabis-like substance from his possession.

Another police party during patrolling at Reshipora Wuder apprehended one person and recovered 40 grams of cannabis-like substance from his possession. He has been identified as Waseem Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir of Zathan Rafiabad.

In Baramulla, a police party at a checkpoint at Bandi Payeen Baramulla recovered 56 Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus tablets from the possession of one person who was subsequently arrested, police said in a statement.
