Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 50 fresh Covid-19 cases while there was no death due to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday.
They said that 32 cases were reported from Jammu division and 18 from Kashmir Valley, taking the cumulative tally to 4,80,223. Among the cases, 1,74,303 are from Jammu division and 3,05,919 from Kashmir Valley.
Providing district-wise details of the cases, they said that 20 cases were reported from Jammu, nine from Pulwama, seven from Samba, six from Srinagar, two each from Doda, Reasi, Kupwara and one each from Poonch and Baramulla.
There was no death during the time. So far 4,788 people have succumbed to the virus in J&K – 2,355 in Jammu division and 2,433 in the Kashmir Valley.
They said currently there are 426 active cases in J&K — 268 in Kashmir, and 158 in Jammu.
Meanwhile, India logged 5,880 new coronavirus cases, while the active cases have increased to 35,199, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.
The death toll has increased to 5,30,979 with 14 deaths. While four deaths each were reported from Delhi and Himachal Pradesh, one each was reported from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan and two were reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 6.91 percent while the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 3.67 percent.
The Covid case tally was recorded at 4.47 crore (4,47,62,496).
The active cases now comprise 0.08 percent of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.73 percent, the ministry said.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,41,96,318 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 percent.
According to the ministry’s website 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
