Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug-peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession, officials informed Thursday.
They said police intercepted two people at a checkpoint on Babareshi road and recovered 32 grams of cocaine and 78 grams of cannabis from their possession. The accused identified as Mohammad Afsar Khan, son of Mohammad Muzaffar of Pehlipora (at present Binner), and Mohammad Sadiq Mir, son of Mohammad Zaman of Khamoh Rafiabad, were arrested.
Two more persons – Karamat Hussain, son of Qurban Ali, and Sadam Hussain, son of Sadiq Hussain, both residents of Dani Sayidan Uri, were arrested at Gingal-Choolan road after 105 grams of cannabis was recovered from their possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, police said.
