VC KVIB presides over interaction programme at Tarzoo

BARAMULLA: Vice Chairperson J&K KVIB, Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, today presided over an Interactive Session with educated unemployed youth and aspirant entrepreneurs at Tarzoo, Sopore.

The programme was also attended by officers from district administration/banks, senior officers from the Board, and a large number of aspirant entrepreneurs and educated unemployed youth of the area.

During the programme, the officers gave detailed presentations about the modalities involved in the implementation of employment generation programmes viz. PMEGP etc. The stakeholders were informed that these schemes are online and aspirant entrepreneurs can apply online for availing financial assistance under these schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hina stated that J&K KVIB is working in a focused manner to ensure the benefits of Employment Generation Schemes viz. PMEGP and JKREGP are percolated among the target population and enjoined upon the prospective entrepreneurs especially women to come forward and channelize their energy for Nation building by establishing micro-enterprises.

The Vice Chairperson informed that during the current financial year, Margin Money of Rs. 131.46 crores has been released by J&K KVIB for the establishment of 6000 units thereby creating employment opportunities for 46640 persons; out of which margin money of Rs. 87 crores for 4195 units has been released in favor of entrepreneurs of Kashmir Division while as margin money of Rs. 44.46 crores for the establishment of 1805 units has been released in Jammu Division. 

She added that during the last three years, margin money of Rs. 61.25 crores involving bank loans of Rs. 166.25 crores have been released in district Baramulla for the establishment of 2789 units thereby envisaging employment opportunities for 21862 persons. 

Earlier, the Vice Chairperson interacted with various delegations. She assured that every kind of hand-holding support shall be extended to aspirant/prospective entrepreneurs to ensure hassle-free processing of their proposals both at Implementing Agency as well as at the bank level.
