Srinagar: A drug-peddler was arrested in Budgam, and contraband substance recovered from his possession, police informed Wednesday.
A police party during naka checking at Badran crossing intercepted a load-carrier (JK04G-3637) driven by one Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohi-u-Din Sheikh, resident of Badran. During the search, 250 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from the vehicle. The accused driver was arrested and the load-carrier seized.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Magam and investigations taken up, police said.
